A database operation blocked access to an essential DB table, blocking webpage loads for logged in users for about 5 minutes. Interviews ongoing were not affected.

Timeline:
4:02 PM: Downtime detected.
4:04 PM: Issue diagnosed as database operation.
4:06 PM: Operation terminated. Website functionality restored.

We apologize for the issue, and will be updating our engineering process to prevent these issues going forward.
